Now, where was I?
Ah, Get in SHAPE, Girl. Take a moment. To reminisce. While eating. Your favorite chocolate cake...
Now that we have taken a trip down memory lane, let me get to the real point of this post (that I am writing when I should be doing my dishes or my 12+ page paper). There is going to be a confession involved, so please brace yourself.
During this past winter, during basketball season...I gained like 20 pounds. There I said it.
I cook AND eat when I am stressed, happy, bored, worried, and during every other emotion out there. Naturally, I like to sample... O-v-E-r sample...my creations. Do you remember my Texas Sheet Cake post?
Unfortunately, this winter I felt crazy stressed and worried. After trying to find an Easter outfit and squeezing myself into my spring/summer clothes, I decided that I better do something about it. I made a goal for myself to loose the weight plus a few more for good measure by July 15 which is my anniversary. Thought I might try to look hot for my hubby while improving my health and self-esteem! I am currently blaming him for the weight gain because he stinking thinks I am hot all the time, always. Apparently, he is blind or just really loves me! :)
I have been running, jump roping, lifting weights, ab workouts (not enough...trust me), Pilates, sweating to exercise videos, and trying to monitor what I eat. This, my friends, has not been an easy task because I love eating and hate exercising. To date, I have lost roughly 15 pounds. While I am proud of my accomplishment, I have 5+ more to lose. I had a minor set back (like 2 weeks worth) with the kids being sick, so I have been trying to get back on track.
Another HUGE reason why I have been on this kick is because I am trying to set a good example for my kids. I had a couple of kid moments that I think are cute and related to my new endeavor.
Little Mr. loves to run the last leg of my journey with me. He uses Brian's iPod Shuffle and sprints WAY in front of me. Kind of dangerous with cars backing out and all, but this family likes living on the dangerous side. This is the outfit he designed for our time together...
Impressive. Smokin' Hot. Crooked.
Just a few words that come to mind.
Did I mention?
Precious and Cute, too!
On to Little Miss (I am pretty much abandoning the name Peanut because my family doesn't like it or rather, doesn't think it fits her personality...I am so easily swayed!)...
Today, when I started my jog, it began to drizzle. Rain scares yet delights my little girl. The thundering and lightning stormy part scares her and using her Disney Princess umbrella brings pure delight! In a sweet effort to protect me, Little Miss Thang (does that name work?) gave me her umbrella to use. It absolutely melted my heart. She kindly asked me if I returned it when I drug myself in the house. Should I mention that I didn't take it with me?
I love having a three year old...when she isn't screaming or telling me NO!
I will try to keep you posted on my new adventure. Until then send me your diet pills...totally kidding...well, sort of...you could at least send some tips that will help me lose the rest of my love handles!
