South Carolina 2010

I am all about the memories.  I love making and rehashing them over and over.  The rehash part is one of my brother's personal favorite.  My fondest memories always include my family.  During the summer, we got to visit my family in South Carolina and Colorado all in two weeks.  That's right, people, we went cross country and loved every bit of it.  

Our trip to South Carolina wasn't short on memories, but for some reason I didn't take as many photos as I usually do.  I am chalking it up to the fact that I really just tried to relax and enjoy the moments.  

Totally my theme this summer!   

YES THAT IS ME...sliding down the slide backwards...YES I AM A TEACHER AND SHOULD BE PROMOTING SLIDE SAFETY!  My dad went down the slide too!  So much fun.  We can always count on Allen to up the fun factor every trip.  We had the pool set up too!

Whole Lot of Nothing

You may remember this post from last year where I showcased this mess...

Over the summer, I can honestly say that I really didn't do anything other than hang out with the fam.  Typically, I try to perfect some method of organization around the house.  

My basement is really needing some TLC.  We are "in the process" of transitioning our office from upstairs to the basement.  I am acting like we are working on it, but we aren't.  My craft area is a complete danger zone.  My ribbon is strewn about like streamers and I have scrapbook paper hanging from the rafters.  I don't even want to tell you about the toys.  We are "in the process" of a toy purge and it ain't purty!  Again, I am acting like we are working on it.  We are not...I am "in the process" of thinking about getting it put back together by ignoring it completely.  In order to make myself feel better, I will focus on a project that I finished last school year.  Now, I have to get busy with more structured activities.     

ABOUT TO POP

Did I mention?  My brother and sis-in-law are having a BaBy girl!  To say I am excited is a bit of an understatement.  Check out her lips...plump enough for me to smooch them!

10 years ago (on July 15th), I married my best friend (besides Jesus, of course)!  I love him with all my heart and he makes me "giggle" everyday AND I mean everyday!

Little Man is a star at home and got his very first chance to be an all-star on the baseball field.  

FOURTH OF JULY

Okay, okay...we are approaching the end of August and I totally stink at the blog thing.  I always make excuses, but you know how it goes...we are living life to the fullest over here!

We got home just in time to spend time with our friends...Michael put on an amazing fireworks show!  Little Man was super impressed, but he REALLY loves Michael!  He even got his autograph!  As you will see Little Miss wasn't so sure about the poppers.

Our time together made not being in OKC just a bit easier!

OLD MAN ROCKING SOME SERIOUS SWIM GEAR...

Yes, real South Carolina beachwear.  It is unbelievable what people will sport on the beach...girls or guys, any size!  I want to make sure you get the full message, so check out the man turning himself in to the lifeguard for inappropriate swim wear.  I doubt he was doing that because he was darn proud of his body.  Not that he shouldn't be...he was like 60.    

Then after a night of overeating.  We went on a stroll and found these shirts...

MYRTLE BEACH: EAT, EXPLORE, and MODEL

Every night we would go out to eat and then explore all of the tourist attractions.  A couple of nights, we met up with friends from Ohio to eat.  There was eating, tattoos, fishing, modeling, flirting, riding rides, and bouncing to fill the nights with fun!  

MYRTLE BEACH: HIT THE BEACH

We didn't spend a whole lot of time on the actual beach.  When we did, it was so Little Man could take part in the kid activities.  HE LOVED THIS and took it very serious!  We also would look for shark's teeth and shells.  Brian actually saw a sting ray in the water.  Promise!  Another lady was watching it too!  YIKES!  We also went on a walk one night after we ate.  You will notice that Little Miss is not walking on the sand.  

Myrtle Beach: SAND?

Getting Little Miss to play in the sand on the beach was impossible.  We could hardly get her to walk on the beach with sand shoes on.  I am not sure why she was so afraid this year.  Last year, we actually buried her in the sand...maybe that was it!

She started to enjoy the sand that was around the condo pool.  Please notice that her feet are NOT in the sand.  In fact, she went to extreme measures to insure that they didn't touch the sand.

What in the world would make her feet hit the sand?
