April Showers Bring Flowers in JULY!

While March was our busiest month, April proved to be just as busy with just as many celebrations!  We went to Oklahoma to celebrate my sister's and our two kiddles' birthdays.  We love our time there.  Lots of eating and laughing.

Our Little Man had his 7th birthday...Oh my goodness!  I cannot believe that he once was my little baby!    This year, he wanted to do something different than a party by momma.  Kind of broke my heart,  but also was a bit of a relief because I didn't know if I would be able to pull off another party just 2 weeks from the last.  Who am I kidding?  I already had his planned since January!  I am hoping I can use it next  year because it is a good one!  Perfect for him!

Did I mention that my baby Daddy had his birthday in March?  We got him a waffle maker because he is so obsessed with waffles at various hotel continental breakfasts!  That was a mouth full!  Literally!  He made his first batch for us in April!  A great treat and tradition that the kids will love!

Easter!  We went to church and then out for Brunch.  Had some fun taking photos with the family!  It was great having Jill here with us!  I miss that girl so much!  She was my live in friend!

Little Man's teeth were falling out right and left!  He lost a tooth at school and Brian had to pull one.  This last one was pretty awful to get out.  Apparently, the skin had grown back into the center of the tooth.  Twist not once, but three or five times!  Ugh!  Gross!

Winds of March Breezing Their Way into July

March brought lots of excitement!  My cousin, Jill, from Colorado came to live with us for a few months.  Her momma dropped her off.  My momma decided to come in for the drop off too!  That weekend was certainly a world wind of fun because Swish had its 2nd annual H.O.R.S.E tournament.  It was a huge success!  We even had a celebrity bracket this year that included the kicker from the Bengals! How cool is that?

Our Little Miss celebrated her 4th birthday with a Soda Pop Party.  As usual, there was so much that didn't get done.  I think it still turned out pretty adorable.  Not as cute as our little miracle.  When we were looking back through the pictures, she said that is so cute...I want to do a party again.  That is what makes it all worth it.

Happy Birthday, Nonny!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

As you know, we live SUPER far from my parents.  I hate it, but it makes these videos even more precious!  We love you, Mommasita/Nonny!

Year of Returns

If you have ever shopped with me, you know that I don't like to try on clothes in the store.  I just buy them and then return them if I don't like.  This happens more often than not.  Apparently, this has carried over into the gift buying strategies.
Brian and the kids bought me a TV to put under my cabinet in the kitchen.  A gift I really loved.  There is something about watching cooking shows while you are cooking.  :)  It seemed a bit large, so I returned it.  Actually, I had Brian return it for me.

The returning didn't stop...

Brian's birthday sometimes gets the backseat because of the kids' birthdays.  This year we celebrated a little late.  We got him this...

He returned it!  Loved it, but I got the wrong bike, a mountain bike.  Did he get a new one?  No.

This is beginning to be a pattern that saves us a lot of money.  Try it.  Buy your honey something that they really love and then return it.  The initial thrill is there.  Just don't get your hopes up for using it in the future.
